Controllers & Drives by AllMotion

AllMotion manufactures Stepper Drives, Stepper Controllers, Servo Drives and Servo Controllers. These are the most compact Intelligent Stepper Motor Drives and Stepper Motor Controllers on the market today. Our Servo Motor Contollers and Brushless DC Motor Controllers feature quadrature encoder feedback and are also programmable to allow stand-alone operation. We can also provide custom solutions based on our EZStepper and EZServo motor driver technology. Please contact us with any needs you may have. Following is a list along with more details on All Motion. Starter kits are also available.

The EZStepper

The EZStepper was designed to allow the rapid implementation of stepper motor solutions in products requiring automation.

A single 4 wire bus, containing 2 power wires and two communications wires, links up to 16 such stepper motor controllers in a daisy chain (see wiring diagram). Commands can be issued from any serial terminal program (such as HyperTerminal) or from the EZStepper Windows application.

The Commands are intuitive and simple. For example, the command A10000 will move the stepper motor to Absolute position 10000. (This communications protocol is compatible with devices that use the Cavro DT or OEM protocol.)

The EZStepper is also capable of stand-alone operation with no connection to a PC. It can be set to execute a preset string of commands upon power up (i.e., only power is required in this mode). The Commands include nested loops and execution halt pending a switch closure, which is useful in stand-alone applications

EZ Inch Stepper Driver

Measuring just 1" X 1" , the EZ Inch Stepper Driver was designed to allow users to create miniature motion control solutions.

The inputs to this drive are STEP, DIRECTION, POWER (9V-30V) and GROUND. (There is no requirement for separate 5V power). The step and direction inputs accept 5V TTL level signals, or can accept switch closures to ground. Please see the Wiring Diagram.

Two on board potentiometers set the MOVE and HOLD currents, and the on board electronics automatically switch between the two current settings when pulses are detected on the STEP input.

EZstepper

Intelli-INCH Stepper Driver

Measuring just 1" X 1" , the Intelli-INCH Stepper Driver + Controller was designed to allow users to create miniature motion control solutions with no programming.

There are two INTELLI-INCH MODELS. The "GO LEFT, GO RIGHT" MODEL and the "JOYSTICK" MODEL.

GO LEFT, GO RIGHT MODEL: INTELLI-INCH-LR

The inputs to this drive are GO LEFT, GO RIGHT, LEFT LIMIT, RIGHT LIMIT AND POWER (9V-30V) and GROUND. (There is no requirement for separate 5V power.) The inputs accept 5V TTL level signals, or can accept switch closures to ground. Please see the Wiring Diagram.

Two on board potentiometers set the MOVE current and the SPEED. Current is automatically reduced to one third of the move current when not moving. A SLEEP_BAR Input when grounded reduces the current draw to less than 2mA, allowing the drive to be used in battery powered applications.

EZController

The EZController was designed to allow the rapid implementation of multi axis servo and stepper control, as well as perform I/O and Temperature control functions.

Measuring only 1.6" x 1.6", the fully intelligent controllers allow automation to be achieved with ease. A single 4 wire bus, containing 2 power wires and two communications wires, links up to 16 such controllers in a daisy chain (see wiring diagram).

The EZ Controller is also capable of stand-alone operation with no connection to a PC. It can be set to execute a preset string of commands upon power up (i.e., only power is required in this mode). The Commands include nested loops and execution halt pending a switch closure, which is useful in stand-alone applications.

The EZCTRL17-ST Motor Controller will work with any power stage uses STEP and DIRECTION or +/-10V inputs. In I/O Mode or Temperature control mode, simple commands allow easy programming of the Controller to achieve the desired function. Our Starter Kits supply all cables and accessiries needed to facilitate wiring.

StepperStick

The StepperStick was designed to allow a first time user to learn to move a stepper motor intelligently in under half an hour.

Housed in a USB Stick measuring only 2" x 1" x 0.5” thick, the fully intelligent stepper motor Controller + Driver is capable of moving bipolar stepper motors of 0.5A current.

A Bipolar Stepper motor is wired to the stick via 4 wires. When inserted to the USB of PC, the drive draws power up to 0.5A from the PC, which is adequate to drive a small motor. The StepperStick appears as a Virtual Com Port, and commands are easily sent via ASCII text from any serial terminal program (such as HyperTerminal) or from the EZStepper Windows application.

The Commands are intuitive and simple. For example, the command A10000 will move the stepper motor to Absolute position 10000. (This communications protocol is compatible with devices that use the Cavro DT or OEM protocol.)

The StepperStick is also capable of stand-alone operation with no connection to a PC. It can be set to execute a preset string of commands upon power up (i.e., only power is required in this mode). The Commands include nested loops and execution halt pending a switch closure, which is useful in stand-alone applications.

The StepperStick Stepper Motor Controller + Driver will work with any stepper motor that is 1.7" or smaller (size17 or smaller). This drive is designed to enable a first time user to make a Stepper Motor move intelligently in less than half an hour.

EZController

The EZServo

The EZServo was designed to allow the rapid implementation of solutions in products requiring automation.

A single 4 wire bus, containing 2 power wires and two communications wires, links up to 16 motors in a daisy chain. Commands can be issued from any serial terminal program (such as HyperTerminal) or from the EZServo/Stepper Windows application.

The Commands are intuitive and simple. For example, the command A10000 will move the Servo motor to Absolute position 10000. (This communications protocol is compatible with devices that use the Cavro DT or OEM protocol.)

The EZServo is also capable of stand alone operation with no connection to a PC. It can be set to execute a preset string of commands upon power up (i.e. Only power is required in this mode). Starker Kits

Everything to get your Motor running within half an hour!

Starter Kits combine a Motor Controller + Driver, and all cables required for the first time user to get their Stepper Motor moving in less than half an hour. The user needs to provide only a power supply, stepper motor, and a PC.

Once your motor is connected, connect the RS-485 Converter to your COM port on your PC and you'll be ready to start moving your motor.

Software Communication

AllMotion EZStepper and EZServos communicate with an RS485 serial bus. You may use either the RS232 to 485 convert or USB to 485 converter to connect your EZSteppers or EZServos to your computer. Once connected, there are several options for communicating with your EZStepper or EZServo.

EZCommander allows you to send commands to your EZSteppers or EZServos with a single click. Commands strings are entered in the text boxes and sent by clicking on the "Send String" button. You can easily save and store groups of strings. You can also record sequences of commands by clicking the record button and then the appropriate "Send String" buttons in their proper order. When you click the "Playback" button, your commands will be sent in the order and with the same timing as you entered them.

Hyperterminal is a terminal emulation program offered by Hilgraeve. You can use Hyperterminal to communicate with your EZSteppers and EZServos through your computer's comm port. This allows you to send commands directly to the units connected to the EZBus as well as receive responses from them.

Visual Basic Programming- you can download a sample VB application by clicking here. This sample VB program allows you to setup a comm port and enter a command string to send to your EZStepper or EZServo. It will then display the response from the unit.
